Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank, Inc. Charity Profile
he Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank, Inc. is a member of Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network, which is the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States. This year we are celebrating our 24th anniversary in service to Northwest Ohio. Since our founding in 1984, we have distributed more than 66 million pounds of food and grocery products to those in need.
The Food Bank currently serves more than 250 non-profit member agencies in eight counties in Northwest Ohio including Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Wood and Williams. In effect, the Food Bank is a cooperative effort to solicit, transport, sort, repack and distribute large amounts of food and grocery products.
Our mission is to enable other community organizations to end hunger. We strive to maximize community resources by effectively obtaining and distributing food through a food collection and distribution system.

The Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank relies on the generosity of thousands of individuals who donate their time and effort to help feed the hungry in Northwest Ohio. In 2007, hundreds of dedicated individuals worked thousands of volunteer hours for the Food Bank.
Volunteers are always welcome at the Food Bank to sort donated food and grocery products, assist the office staff and help with events. Donated products are sorted to discard any out-dated or damaged items as well as sorted by type of product for ease in distribution.
The Food Bank welcomes groups from schools, companies, civic groups, church youth groups, as well as individuals. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteer hours are available from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and some Saturday mornings are also available.
