SPCA Cincinnati Charity Profile

SPCA Cincinnati is an Animal Shelter and Humane Society that continually strives to strengthen the human-animal bond and improve the welfare of animals by fostering humane care and treatment of all animals. Through humane education and animal protection, we improve the quality of life in our community. spca cincinnati provides services to Hamilton County and the City of Cincinnati, Ohio. This service area covers a population of over 900,000 people and an area of over 500 square miles. spca cincinnati relies upon private donations and receives no tax money to operate nor does the United Way subsidize us in any way.

SPCA Cincinnati Volunteer Information

SPCA Cincinnati would like to encourage the participation of Volunteers who support the following purposes: To receive lost or unwanted animals brought to the shelter; to return them to their owners or place them in good homes; to humanely handle those which cannot be placed; and to educate the public about the intelligent and humane treatment of animals.

All potential Volunteers are required to attend a two hour orientation which is held monthly, followed by a hands-on training course, before being placed in an SPCA Volunteer program. We also ask that you are willing to make a commitment of no less than six months with two hour shifts twice a month. If you agree with our purpose, are willing to attend the orientation and training course and are committed to the SPCA Volunteer program, we encourage you to complete this form so we may help you find the most satisfying and appropriate opportunity for you.
