Lutheran Social Services Of North Dakota Charity Profile

Our roots go back to 1919, when the Lutheran Children’s Finding Society was formed to establish, maintain and conduct receiving homes for orphans, homeless, abandoned, neglected and dependent children.

Across the decades, from the Great Depression to World War II, through the social changes of the ‘50s and ‘60s to the challenges of today, our services have expanded to meet the changing needs of individuals, families and the community.

Lutheran Social Services Of North Dakota Volunteer Information

The following volunteer positions are currently open through Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota. Position Office We are looking for an ongoing volunteer to help out a few hours a day a couple days a week. This person would be doing various office work such as filing, data entry, preparing mailings, etc. Our office has been very busy with mission trips to the Gulf Coast, as well as responding to disasters in our local area, and need help to catch up. Volunteer would need to have some office skills, and be willing to learn. Volunteer would need to have some office skills, and be willing to learn. Assistant Refugee Resettlement Mentors Volunteers are needed to help refugees adjust to life in the United States. Resettlement assistants help refugee families by preparing for their arrival and/or assiting the refugees' case manager during the first few months of resettlement. Tasks may include providing transportation to appointments and helpting refugees familiarize themselves with the community and the services available to them. Refugee mentors help introduce refugees to American culture. These volunteers typically begin their work with families a few months after the refugees have arrived in the United States. A willingness to welcome people of other cultures. Youth Court Volunteer Youth Court is in need of youth and adult volunteers to serve twice a month in various courtroom roles.
