River Keepers Charity Profile

River Keepers grew from a desire to rediscover the Red River’s heritage, and to teach people to again appreciate the Red as a living River. In earlier decades of Fargo-Moorhead history, people used and appreciated the Red River for a variety of activities. In later years, people lost that appreciation for the river which is the dominant geographical feature in the community, and began to consider it a liability to be avoided.

River Keepers Volunteer Information

Just as the Red River could not flow without a source, neither can River Keepers. Your generous financial support allows our projects to continue, but we also need volunteers. The more participation in River Keepers’ projects and committees, the larger the impact on the community.

Find a project or a committee area in which you are interested. This might involve a skill to develop, a hobby to enjoy or a new interest to explore. Turn that interest into a service for the Fargo-Moorhead community. Also, encourage friends, families, your employer, other businesses, organizations and classrooms to volunteer their time or resources to River Keepers.

River Keepers Donation Information

All of our plans for the future and accomplishments of the past could not and will not be completed without the involvement and support from our many partners. Paid memberships and donations of time and materials all contribute to the successful completion of our goals. Your support not only provides some of the direct fiscal support necessary for our organization to continue but it provides matching funds for some of our grant funded projects
