Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, spiritually based organization providing local human service programs, and opportunities for individual and community involvement.

Volunteers of America Carolinas serves people and communities in need and creates opportunities for people to experience the joy of serving others. We measure our success in positive change in the lives of individuals and communities we serve.

Our programs are very diverse from one community to the next and so are our volunteer opportunities. A few examples of where volunteers are working are in our housing facilities for disabled, the elderly, and families providing activities, meals, parties and other services. Some work at our children and day care centers assisting the teachers and staff with the children, while others are working with offenders as they transition from prison back into our communities. Volunteer groups from businesses, faith communities, schools and other groups work throughout our programs as well as individual volunteers. Some of our volunteers prefer short-term projects while others work weekly or monthly helping others.
