Volunteer Center of Greensboro Charity Profile
For 30 years, The Volunteer Center of Greensboro has been helping create a community of caring.
We began our mission in 1975 as the Voluntary Action Center of Greensboro, an independent United Way agency. One short year later, we were honored as a model center for the entire country - the only one selected in North Carolina. In 1995, we became known as The Volunteer Center of Greensboro, Inc.
Over the years, we’ve developed a host of programs to help all members of our community. The Human Race, a community-wide fundraiser for nonprofit organizations, has raised more than $3 million since it began in 1993.
Volunteer Center of Greensboro Volunteer Information
You’ll find volunteer opportunities to meet everyone’s needs. There are some just for teens, projects that are suitable for groups of people, special holiday opportunities, and a calendar of one-day or short-term events. There’s also a listing for people who need to perform community service (court appointed or to meet a school requirement).
