Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Charlotte Charity Profile

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Charlotte Event will be taking place on the weekend of October 27th and October 28th.
Our participants are required to raise a minimum of $1,800 that are donated to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation, an accredited 501(c)(3) public charity with funds awarded for breast cancer awareness and education; screening and diagnosis; treatment; support services; and scientific research. Beneficiaries range from leading cancer centers to community-based non-profit breast health programs in the vicinities of each Avon Walk event and nationwide.

The focus is on reaching the medically underserved population, including minorities, the poor, elderly, under- and uninsured, with a mission to fund access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer. To date, the Avon Crusade has returned more than $800,000,000 net to breast cancer research and care organizations worldwide.

Sign up to Crew today! A Crew member’s participation in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is dedicated to taking care of the Walkers. Working sun-up to sun-down (and sometimes longer) throughout the entire Avon Walk weekend, Crew Teams provide support for Walkers and fellow Crew members — they do just about everything and anything! But the rewards for this hard work are given back by the admiration and gratitude from the Walkers. They could not complete this journey without you. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Avon Walk Crew, register today!

Interested in Volunteering before or during the event?

Both Volunteers and Crew are crucial to the Avon Walk experience, but the major difference is the amount of time you are able to commit to the Avon Walk. If you are able to commit to the entire Avon Walk weekend and are 18 or older, please register as a Crew Member. Volunteers commit to shorter shifts throughout the weekend and we need hundreds of Volunteers to make the Event possible. We also need Volunteers to help out throughout the season with our smaller events as well as in the office. Please take a look at our Volunteer Page at avonwalk.org!
