The Center for Volunteer Caregiving Charity Profile
The Center for Volunteer Caregiving is a private, nonprofit, faith based organization formed in 1992. Our mission is to provide volunteer services to help Wake County seniors, family caregivers, and adults with disabilities maintain independence, dignity and quality of life.
The purpose of The Center for Volunteer Caregiving is to:
Extend existing volunteer efforts within the faith community to the larger community;
Provide community education to families, neighbors, and other community caregivers;
Strengthen the community-at-large by linking informal caregiving with formal caregiving agencies and organizations.
The Center operates as an organizational cornerstone for participating congregations and the community-at-large by providing orientation and training to volunteers, supporting volunteer coordinators and serving as a referral agent among formal servie providers.

When you volunteer for the Center, we take the necessary time to match you with a care-receiver who has a similar interests. We also work with you to create a schedule that is most convenient for you. This extra attention to the matching process has resulted in many long-term caregiver and care-receiver relationships.
Who you help As a volunteer, you will help adults in Wake County who need a little assistance to stay in their home, including:
Seniors Adults with chronic illness; Adults with visual impairment; Adults with memory impairment; Adults with developmental disabilities.
