Akwamfon Sustainable Community Association ASCA View Charity Profile

Akwamfon is a membership based organisation recently registered in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. It was formed with the help of Sustainable Development Network Limited, a UK based non profit organisation that is promoting projects to help the people of Nigeria and elsewhere. Our membership include school children, youths, adults (women and men). In addition to our individual members, corporate membership is also encouraged from among community based organisations and any other organisation that is willing to identify with the cause of the Association. Membership is not limited to those from our immediate community, as we welcome members from any community. Typical projects areas we seek to promote include information and knowledge sharing using both traditional media and new media such as ICT, sharing project ideas, facilitating the development of community based and school based projects that will encourage education, vocational skills development, enterpreneurship, ethics, good governance and respect for the environment, among others. We also hope to promote local arts and crafts by linking local artisans with available markets and training. With the help of Sustainable Development Network, we will seek to network local groups with like minded organisations and resources within and outside Nigeria.

Akwamfon aims to promote sustainable development among communities in Akwa Ibom State and elsewhere in Nigeria through sustainable education, knowledge and information sharing, poverty reduction and other sustainable development projects.
