Oneida County Habitat for Humanity Charity Profile

The Oneida County Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian organization that works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. Many people in Oneida County cannot own a home because they are unable to qualify for a conventional bank home loan, and as a result some must live in housing that is cramped, rundown, or even unsafe. These are the people we seek to reach. We partner with qualified families, all of whom contribute many hours of sweat equity and who purchase the home with a no-interest mortgage held by the Oneida County Habitat for Humanity.

To accomplish our goals, we invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to join us in building houses together.

Oneida County Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Information

We need many volunteers to help us build new homes, and to paint and renovate existing ones. We welcome people with expertise as well as those who wish to learn. No experience is necessary. Volunteer and we'll teach you what you need to know. Think about organizing a work group from your college or school, from your church, mosque, or temple, or from your workplace or civic organization. Spend a day with friends building a dream home for someone else or come on your own and meet our wonderful volunteers.
