The National Marfan Foundation Charity Profile
The NMF is the primary source of accurate and up to date information on the Marfan syndrome. It was founded in 1981 by a handful of individuals seeking help to understand the complex condition affecting themselves and their loved ones.
Over the past twenty years, the Foundation has grown as it has increased its education, support and research programs. Professional staffers oversee the Information Resource Center, which features personalized service through a toll-free number (800-8-MARFAN) and the Internet; medical education and consumer awareness programs; and a research grant program that has provided nearly $2 million in grants since its inception less than 15 years ago.
The National Marfan Foundation Volunteer Information
NMF members and volunteers are the heart of the National Marfan Foundation. People are needed to provide support locally by serving as a Telephone Support Volunteer or organizing a Local Network Group, Support Group or Chapter, and by promoting public awareness of Marfan syndrome or participating in fundraising activities. The National Volunteer Network was created to formally recognize all NMF volunteers across the country who contribute so much to advancing the NMF's mission.
In order to better assist people in their grassroots efforts and provide them with the materials and support they need to be successful, Kathy Jeffers, NMF Manager of Volunteer Development, is matching volunteers' interests and skills to help in specific program and fundraising areas of the NMF.
The National Marfan Foundation Donation Information
