Global Alliance for Community Development Charity Profile

Global Alliance for Community Development, Inc. (GACD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending intergenerational poverty transfer in developing communities. We provide resources and forge partnerships that create lasting opportunities for underserved populations in areas that are: 1) under-funded in terms of government and non-government aid and 2) positioned to make significant social advances with a relatively small infusion of resources. GACD believes access to healthcare and education is key to ending the cycle of poverty, and our programs are tailored to meet the individual needs of our partners.

GACD offers programs that provide comprehensive health and education services, tailored to the specific needs of each community. Our health initiative focuses on three areas: education, resource distribution and access to existing services. Through a series of workshops conducted by local and international health care professionals, Global Alliance for Community Development works to educate underserved populations on common health issues.

The heart of GACD educational programs is increasing access to resources. Supplying communities with the necessary tools for people to contribute to and support the education process will allow parents to see the value in educating their children, the youth population to fully engage themselves in their own personal growth and the community to benefit from a developed future generation. The primary method by which we will increase access to underserved populations and promote educational engagement is constructing new and supporting current Resource Centers. Each Resource Center will house a library, a computer lab with internet access, as well public spaces for adult and child education. By offering free access to educational resources, as well as programs centered on literacy and skill development, GACD will make strides in closing the achievement gap that currently exists, while mitigating the financial burden on families.
