Trenton Area Soup Kitchen Charity Profile
The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) is a private, non-sectarian, charitable organization that depends almost entirely on the help of dedicated volunteers and generous financial support from individuals, churches, local businesses and community organizations.
TASK provides more than 3,000 free meals per week to people in need in the Trenton area. We direct our activities toward helping patrons achieve healthier lifestyles, increased self-esteem, and self-sufficiency. To this end, TASK and agencies using our facility provide a wide array of social, community, and health services.
Mission: The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (T. A. S. K., Inc.) is a charitable, non-profit organization whose mission is to respond to the needs of people in the Trenton area by 1) providing meals to all those who are hungry, 2) providing services to encourage self-sufficiency and improve quality of life, 3) informing the wider community of the needs of the hungry, and 4) advocating for resources to meet these needs.

Trenton Area Soup Kitchen Volunteer Information
There would be no TASK without our volunteers. From the beginning, TASK has relied on their generosity to help prepare, serve meals and clean up; to tutor in adult education; and to staff the many other programs. Volunteers come as individuals, families or members of school organizations, churches, synagogues, civic and social organizations, and corporations from the Greater Trenton area, Monday through Friday, fifty-two weeks a year.
There are many ways you can help us. You can give money or donate food or other needed items or volunteer your time.
Becoming a volunteer is easy. We simply need to determine what you would like to do, what TASK needs you for and where, and when you should come in.
Please read about volunteer opportunities on these webpages and look at the Frequently Asked Questions list. Check the home page for special/immediate needs that we have.
Decide what you would like to do and when you can come. Try to have several dates in mind in case all volunteer slots are filled for your first and second choices.
Then email the Volunteer Coordinator with your preferences and a telephone number where you can be reached during normal business hours.
Your only committment is to show up at the agreed-on day and time for the agreed-on amount of time. However, you can commit to periodic or repeated volunteeering as your schedule permits. Then, of course, you are committed to whatever dates we both agree to.
