Jewish Camden Partnership Charity Profile

The Jewish Camden Partnership brings together the South Jersey Jewish community with our neighbors in Camden City to collaborate in building Camden’s economic, social and cultural foundation. United in our work, our partnership is guided by the common pursuit of justice and the desire to transform both communities. By working closely with grassroots and faith-based groups, schools and businesses in Camden, the JCP seeks to promote understanding and assist in strengthening Camden's neighborhoods. As committed Jews, many of whom have historical ties to the City of Camden, we are guided by the principles of tzedek (justice) and tikkun olam (healing of the world).

Jewish Camden Partnership Volunteer Information

JCP is partnering with Christus Lutheran Church and the Washington Elementary School in Cramer Hill, Camden to offer both an after school and summer literacy program for elementary students who are behind grade level in reading and writing. Teenager tutors from Camden and suburban communities will work with adult supervisors to help the young students make strides in literacy, and act as mentors to the young children.
