Home Health & Hospice Care is a not-for-profit Visiting Nurse Association and hospice with offices in Nashua, Manchester, and Merrimack, NH. The organization provides home health services to the elderly, the acute and chronically ill, children, newborns, and the dying in the comfort and security of the individual's home.
We can help. Our professional staff of caregivers will meet your unique needs in the comfort of your own home, with the skill, compassion, and dedication you expect and deserve.

Home Health & Hospice Care is a non-profit Visiting Nurse Association serving patients of all ages and all circumstances in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. Since 1883, HHHC has kept pace with changes in medical practice, while continually providing the compassionate care and support that is critical to families in their times of need.

Among the programs offered by HHHC are:
Home Care: Visiting nurses, physical, speech, and occupational therapists, IV therapists, and licensed nursing assistants who provide home care for patients recovering from illness and hospitalization.
Hospice: Nurses, social workers, licensed nursing assistants, spiritual care providers, and volunteers who care for patients who are dying and their families. Pain management and supportive care are integral components of the hospice program.
Community Hospice House: A ten suite home that serves patients who do not have a primary caregiver at home or who require medical services that cannot be provided in a home setting.
Homemaking: A service designed for low-income elderly and disabled people, it is intended to give clients support to enable them to stay independent in their own homes.
Flu Clinics: HHHC sponsors flu clinics for anyone at high risk of contracting influenza. The clinics are held in many different community centers for convenience, starting in October of each year.
Grief Support Groups: Programs for all age groups, from preschoolers to adults, to help them cope with the death of a loved one.
Home Health & Hospice Care is dedicated to providing exceptional home, hospice, and supportive services that enhance each individual's independence and quality of life.

Today, Home Health & Hospice Care is an independent, non-profit visiting nurse association. The agency's 300 clinicians and administrative staff provide a full array of health services to people of all ages, medical conditions, and financial circumstances in both southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts

Home Health & Hospice Care Volunteer Information

Home Health & Hospice Care needs volunteers to provide family visits, respite care, bereavement support, and transportation to home care and hospice clients and their families in southern NH and northern MA. You can give this life-enhancing support in 1-4 hours per week, at your convenience, and no medical experience is required.

Twice yearly, HHHC offers a free, 30-hour Training and Education Program for potential hospice volunteers. This training is required of all volunteers who will be working with patients. Training sessions are held in our Merrimack office. Sample topics include: Hospice Philosophy, Listening Skills, Grief and Bereavement, and Pain Control. HHHC's clinical staff facilitates classes.

Become part of a team of professionals by helping families feel less alone during a difficult time. You can provide emotional support, transportation, and friendly visits to individuals with a life-threatening illness, as well as give family members some time off or bereavement care.

HHHC has many other volunteer opportunities that do not require specialized training. Our volunteers also perform administrative and clerical duties, plan and staff special events and fundraisers, and even do landscaping at the Community Hospice House.

Last year alone, over 300 HHHC volunteers gave 9,861 patient hours, 2,033 special event hours, and 1,290 administrative hours, driving 61,074 miles to perform these critical services.
