Reform Forum Charity Profile
Reform Forum is a government registered non-profit, non-partisan and non-political, social organization. It is established by a team of social activists, researchers, academicians, economists and journalists who have long been involved in governance reform and anti-corruption movement in Nepal as part of their social responsibility.
To work for governance reform, transparency, accountability, national integrity system, good governance and rule of law in Nepal is the genuine and immediate need of the responsible citizen of the country. Therefore to materialize the need of efficient, improved and effective institutional efforts to establish social ethics, public integrity, governance reform, corruption free governing system and equitable and just society in Nepal, Reform Forum has formed in this shape.
The governance reform efforts in the past were futile, turned out to be motionless and counter-productive because of weak commitments for reform issues. Due to a lack of political commitment and pervasive corruption, reform agenda are overshadowed. The nation lagged far behind in governance, integrity, accountability and transparency. Existing governance system, and corrupt and ruined political mindset are contributing Nepal to be ranked as a failed state. Corruption is rampant and synonymous to governance in Nepal. Huge corruption and irregularities in development projects, procurement process impedes the rapids of development process. Level of service delivery is very poor and unsatisfactory. No national and government apparatus, from the private sectors to the judiciary, are corruption-free.
Therefore, it is very urgent to initiate collective efforts for the governance reform, national integrity system, accountability, transparency and rule of law in Nepal. With aim to reform the issues the national interests Reform Forum is established
Building national integrity, good governance, just and equitable society for a prosperous and developed Nepal.
To reform the existing governance system, empower citizens and society to address overall national issues in order to promote discipline, accountability, transparency, ethics, rule of law and integrity system for good governance.
Promoting national integrity system, governance reform and bringing total reform in existing governance system. To work for fiscal discipline, transparency, accountability and integrity through studies, research, monitoring, lobbying, advocacy and sensitizing on national issues for corruption-free national mechanism and good governance.
