Tabitha Health Care Services Volunteer Information
Volunteering is easy and fun. Share your gifts and talents, learn new skills and meet interesting people. Take a moment today to make a difference in peoples' lives tomorrow. Join over 2000 others and become a Tabitha Volunteer today!
When you deliver Meals on Wheels, you help people remain in their home by providing a hot, noon meal. You can help weekly, monthly or as an on-call driver. Routes take about 90 minutes and begin at 10:45 a.m. Mode of transportation, valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance required.
Hospice of Tabitha volunteers provide support and companionship to clients in the last stages of life. Volunteers prepare meals, assist with personal care and provide transportation. Volunteers visit clients in Tabitha's Maseman Hospice Unit, in other care facilities and in clients' homes. Specialized training is provided to prepare you for this unique and rewarding opportunity.
You can make personal visits; assist with fun activities; escort clients to Chapel, physical therapy or the Beauty Shop or serve meals in the dining room. Nursing Center volunteers are needed seven days a week. Hours will vary by activity.
Volunteers rock babies, help children in the classroom or serve in the kitchen or office. You can also socialize with Elders who enjoy activities including scrapbooking and other crafts, games and outdoor visiting.
Students in grades seven through twelve can participate in Tabitha's Junior Volunteer Program. Volunteering begins in the summer following required training. Junior Volunteers can then choose fall hours after school and on weekends.
