Independent Journalism Centre IJC Charity Profile
The Independent Journalism Center (IJC) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides assistance to journalists and media institutions in the Republic of Moldova. IJC sees its mission in supporting professional journalism and aims at contributing to the consolidation of a qualitative, independent and impartial press.
The Independent Journalism Center was established in 1994 as an Open World House Project. In 1998 it became independent.
IJC is supported by Soros Foundation - Moldova, Soros Regional Media Program, the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy, Winrock International (USA), the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), Missouri School of Journalism, National Endowment for Democracy (USA), Press Now (the Netherlands), British Embassy, Department for International Development of Great Britain (DFID), “Article 19”, Council of Europe, OSCE, UNDP – Moldova, Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Germany), International Institute for Journalism of InWEnt (Germany), Eurasia Foundation, Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) etc.
