Interfaith Partnership IP Charity Profile
Interfaith Partnership of Metropolitan St. Louis (IP) was incorporated in 1986 as a 501c(3) non-profit interfaith organization. Our mission is to promote peace, respect, and understanding among people of all faiths. IP provides opportunities for people of all faiths to come together through dialogue, education, celebration, social advocacy, and health programming. Interfaith Partnership also researches public issues and speaks out on issues important to faith communities. Our programs and participants encompass the entire metropolitan St. Louis region. We are pleased to work with our affiliate organizations, the Metro East and St. Charles Interfaith Partnership, which exist to provide interfaith opportunities in their respective areas.
Interfaith Partnership understands that there are many issues that divide our community, both locally and globally. In the 21st century we still inhabit a world where racial and religious violence pervades our culture. Instead of being unified, we are increasingly divided. Instead of striving for mutual understanding we are content with tolerance. The Partnership recognizes that our community is challenged by issues and problems, which cross denominational, religious, racial and neighborhood boundaries. We also acknowledge the need for the faith community to speak out and act on a number of pressing issues in a unified systematic manner. The Partnership, represents this unifying vehicle through which the faith and strength of the religious community is harnessed to achieve a greater good in the St. Louis region and the world.
