Warsaw Parents as Teachers Program Charity Profile
The Warsaw Parents as Teachers Program is a program offered for free to all families in the Warsaw School District with children ages birth to five years old. Our primary focus is educating parents about the development of their child during each phase of the first five years of their lives. Our goal is to help parents realize that they are their child's first and most important teacher. Literacy is also a primary focus since it targets all four developmental domains: Language development, social-emotional development (builds attachment), motor development (turning pages, pointing, lifting flaps), and intellectual development.
Warsaw Parents as Teachers Program Volunteer Information
We would love to have voluteers help us when we offer group meetings for our families. Volunteers can help with set up and take down, help with childcare, help monitor activities, etc. These services would usually only require two to three hours per event.
Warsaw Parents as Teachers Program Donation Information
Our goal is to be able to give every child a free book at every home visit. All donations would be used toward purchasing these books for all of our children ages birth to five. Currently we service around 230-250 children per year and that number is growing.
