Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity Charity Profile
Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc., an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1990. Under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors, Hattiesburg Area Habitat works in partnership with low-income families to build simple, decent, and affordable housing in the Hattiesburg area.
Our current project is one house in Rawl Springs being built by multiple teams of Collegiate Challenge student volunteers during the month of March. Our goal for the fiscal year of 2009-2010 is the construction of 10 - 14 houses. Check the Construction page for more details.
Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization committed to assisting families in need with the life-changing opportunity of buying simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with a team of enthusiastic volunteers and staff guided by Christian values.
Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Information
Supervisors on Site provide hands on leadership during the construction of the houses, while working with family partners and sponsor volunteers. Our current SOSs understand the Habitat mission, communicate the principles and goals of Hattiesburg Area Habitat for Humanity, are patient teachers and are committed to giving back to the community.
Volunteer opportunities include: sharing your knowledge with others in a small class setting, providing child care for parents attending classes. If interested, contact the office.
