Hiawatha Water Trail Association Charity Profile
The Hiawatha Water Trail Association encourages the enjoyment of Lake Superior between Big Bay and Grand Marais, Michigan through safe, responsible and respectful paddling.We work to provide information to help paddlers plan safe and enjoyable trips.Educate trail users regarding the importance of appropriate skills and equipment.Optimize paddler access to and from Lake Superior.Promote stewardship of lands and waters used by paddlers.Encourage respect of landowners’ rights.Collaborate with other organizations in order to improve the paddling experience.Provide a voice for the paddling community.The Hiawatha Water Trail Association (HWTA) is a grassroots organization of volunteers.
Hiawatha Water Trail Association Volunteer Information
Volunteer your time.This is what makes things happen and is the core of this grassroots organization. From going out paddling to scout possible campsites, to GIS specialists, graphic artists, foresters, carpenters and other professionals donating services, to talking with units of government, there is a large to do list.

100% of your money goes into the water trail. We are a federally recognized 501c3 non profit organization so 100% of your funds go into the water trail and are tax deductible as well.
