Reach Studio Art Center Charity Profile
REACH STUDIO ART CENTER is a tax exempt, non-profit, neighborhood art center located in REO Town, near the heart of Lansing at 1804 S. Washington Ave. Reach focuses on offering residents of the surrounding mixed income neighborhoods as well as the greater Lansing area a variety of art activities. These include free, inter-generational drop-in art making sessions and classes in various visual art media held in a renovated old store front building, full of color and imagination. Reach was founded in November, 2003 by local textile artist, Alice Brinkman, whose textile studio resides above Reach. Board members, volunteers and contracted art teachers have worked hard to develop this community resource for art-making. Reach became a non-profit corporation in February, 2004 and since then has serviced hundreds of community members with its free, art-making drop-in program, summer camps for kids, and various fee and scholarship based classes for children and adults.
