Capital Area Literacy Coalition Charity Profile

The Capital Area Literacy Coalition helps children and adults learn to read, write and speak English with an ultimate goal of helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency. We achieve this through direct services and by enhancing literacy efforts of community organizations in the Capital Area and throughout the state of Michigan.

Capital Area Literacy Coalition Volunteer Information

Tutors are needed to help children and adults in basic skill areas and in English as a second language. Workshops are held regularly to prepare tutors, and after tutors are matched with a students, follow-up services are provided.Behind the scenes volunteers are essential to the Reading People.
