Andre Bosse Center Charity Profile
Over the past year, the Andre’ Bosse Centers have adjusted our mission to better reflect our true purpose which is to be a resource to the Department of Human Services (formerly FIA), Law Enforcement Agencies, the Courts, the Prosecutor’s Office and the community at large. Because only together can we hope to prevent, treat and eliminate child abuse in our communities.
Andre Bosse Center Volunteer Information
Direct Services Volunteers
CASA Volunteer- Court Appointed Special Advocates serve as a special advocate for an abused/neglected child or siblings while in Foster Care and under the Court’s jurisdiction. The Advocate provides a consistent voice for the child during the Court involvement. The Andre’ Bosse Centers currently runs the CASA program in Oceana & Newaygo Counties.
Supervised Visitation Monitor- The Andre’ Bosse Centers in Mason & Oceana Counties provide children a safe, non-judgmental location to visit with parents who are ordered by the courts to have supervised visitation. A volunteer is needed to observe and document the visit. Notes from the visits are sent to the referring agency.
Victim Advocate- Volunteers are trained and supervised by a staff Child & Family Advocate to support an assigned child victim and their non-offending family members throughout the investigation, prosecution and toward healing.
Support Services Volunteers
Administrative & Program Assistants- Volunteers are needed to provide assistance to the Centers, its staff and various programs. Projects and tasks will vary. Duties often may include data input, filing, communications, answering phone calls and welcoming children and visitors to the Center. Development Volunteers- The Andre’ Bosse Centers are seeking individuals (and groups) to assist or coordinate fundraiser's, marketing efforts, or awareness campaigns. Time commitment and responsibilities will vary.
Kid’s Coalition- A newly formed group of student volunteers, 1st – 9th grade, who want to make a difference in their community. Their goal is to raise awareness and funds for child abuse prevention and services by planning family-friendly events and activities.
Speakers Bureau- Volunteers needed to give 15 minute to 1 hour presentations to groups ranging from students to service clubs to Sunday School Classes. Training will be provided if you do not have background in this field.
Maintenance/Landscaping/- Volunteers are needed to maintain and assist in upkeep of the grounds and building at both Centers. Duties and skills needed include cleaning, painting, lawn care, plumbing, woodworking, gardening and plowing. The ability for volunteers to be contacted with little or no notice is extremely helpful.
Professional Support- From time-to-time the Andre’ Bosse Centers could use the assistance of individuals or companies that provide certain professional or skilled help. Examples may include but are not limited to: legal, accounting, plumbing, contractors, computer maintenance, publishers, snow plowing, and electrical assistance.
