Degage Ministries Charity Profile
In 1967, a small coffeehouse called "The Degage was created. Here, college students came to listen to music, talk, have a cup of coffee, and to come as they are, to be accepted and loved as Christ would love them. Today our ministry no longer looks like the quiet college coffeehouse of the '60's, still much remains the same.
Today, every person who walks into Degage is treated with dignity and respect because they are created in the image of a loving God who has called them to a plan and purpose in life.
In this way, the Coffeehouse provides a "living room" of a neighborhood, a place to call home. It also fosters a sense of community between those among us who would otherwise feel completely alienated, alone, and on the edge of society. And it creates safety. Neighborhood watch programs work because neighbors know each other and watch out for each other. Our neighborhood has achieved high safety ratings in recent years, as neighbors take hold of this community and call it theirs.

Degage Ministries Volunteer Information
KITCHEN COOK VOLUNTEER…
The dining room cook helps prepare and assemble breakfast for patrons. They oversee the cooking of the grill, which typically involves preparing scrambled eggs and pancakes. Breakfast is served 9:00am-10:30am in our Dining Room. We ask that the individual interested in cooking breakfast commit to coming once a week for a minimum of six months. Current openings are: Tuesdays: 8:45am- 10:45am
JOB POSTING VOLUNTEER…
We are in need of a volunteer who will assist in posting jobs available for patrons. Volunteer can work from home.
FOOD RUNNER VOLUNTEER…
Volunteer delivers food to patrons by name in Dining Room. Current opportunity: Thursdays: 8:45am-10:45am
PHONES/DONATIONS/OFFICE WORK VOLUNTEER…
Volunteer answers phones, helps receive donations, and assists with misc. office work as needed. Openings: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays 9:00am-Noon (can shorten shift if necessary). Wednesdays 1:00pm-5:00pm
Ongoing Needs
SUBSTITUTE VOLUNTEER…
Substitute volunteers are willing to be on a substitute calling list, they would be contacted if there was a need for extra volunteers for the dining room, special events, mailings, etc.
