League of Women Voters Dearborn and Dearborn Heights LWVDDH Charity Profile

The League of Women Voters, a non-partisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

LWV was launched from the suffrage movement that ensured women the right to vote with the 19th amendment. As a non-partisan political organization, we do NOT endorse parties or candidates. We DO take carefully studied positions on important issues.

Our right to vote is exercised best when we understand the issues and know where politicians stand on those issues. Democracy works best with active and informed participation of citizens influencing government. Our primary roles are Voter Education and Advocacy.
