Youth For Understanding Charity Profile
Youth For Understanding (YFU) is a non-profit international educational organization with programs in 64 countries. One of the world's oldest, largest, and most respected exchange organizations, YFU has exemplified excellence in exchange worldwide since 1951.
YFU USA administers the Youth For Understanding programs in the United States and is committed to preparing young people for their responsibilities and opportunities in a changing, interdependent world. Working in partnership with governments, corporations, foundations, schools, and educators worldwide to create global learning opportunities, YFU promotes international understanding and world peace.
Youth For Understanding Volunteer Information
YFU USA is a volunteer-based organization. For more than 50 years, we have successfully carried out our mission thanks to the efforts of thousands of volunteers across the country. Our volunteers use their enthusiasm and skills to become caring YFU USA representatives for teens and families—and literally change the world.
As a YFU USA volunteer, you’ll provide essential support to students, families, and other volunteers in a variety of ways. Whatever your skills, schedule, and interests, there is a YFU USA volunteer opportunity to match!
YFU USA volunteers also interview prospective exchange students and host families, conduct orientations, share information with local communities, and provide administrative support.
Youth For Understanding Donation Information
Contributions to YFU USA help advance and foster cultural understanding and international friendship through international high school immersion programs. YFU USA depends on charitable giving to sustain our Annual Fund, as well as funding of important scholarship programs designed to provide opportunities for students worldwide to participate on a YFU program.
