Habitat for Humanity Battle Creek Charity Profile
Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity is a faith based movement whose ultimate goal is the elimination of sub-standard housing from our community.
We are a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing and make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. BCAHFH includes Albion, Battle Creek and Marshall, Michigan. Since 1989, we have built, rehabbed, and repaired homes in partnership with families. We have built or rehabbed 105 homes in Calhoun County. Our goal is to build/rehabilitate 150 more homes in the next ten years. We work with people of all walks of life.
Habitat for Humanity Battle Creek Volunteer Information
We have individuals from the greater Battle Creek area volunteer on a regular basis, usually on Tuesdays thru Saturdays. Other churches, groups, and individuals volunteer on Saturdays as well.
Volunteers are also needed for our Partnering and Selection Committees, as well as our ReStore, which is open Monday thru Saturday, 10:00am until 5:00pm.
Groups are also very welcome. These volunteers often come for several days or a week at a time. They range in age from older high school students to retirees. ( The law stipulates that students must be a minimum of 16 years old to work on a construction site in Michigan.) We have hosted volunteer groups from all over the United States. We work on Tuesday - Saturday (not on Sundays).
