Foundation City la Alegría Joy consiste en un grupo entusiasta de colaboradores, benefactores y voluntarios, que creemos que es fundamental participar activamente en el desarrollo social de Quintana Roo. is an enthusiastic group of collaborators, benefactors and volunteers, which we believe is essential to actively participate in social development of Quintana Roo.

Nuestra misión es 'construir espacios, generar sinergias y potenciar esfuerzos que apoyen a instituciones que promuevan con amor y alegría, el desarrollo y la dignidad de las personas más desamparadas, atendiendo de esta forma las necesidades sociales más apremiantes en ciudades de alto crecimiento'. Our mission is to 'build spaces, create synergies and promote efforts to support institutions that promote with love and joy, development and the dignity of those most disadvantaged, in response to this most pressing social needs in high-growth cities. Nuestro primer proyecto, la Ciudad de la Alegría, arrancó en el 2001 en un terreno de 3.5 hectáreas localizada a 15 minutos del centro de Cancún y todos los días nos esforzamos para lograr que la Ciudad de la Alegría sea un instrumento eficaz para el cumplimiento de nuestra misión. Our first project, the City of Joy, started in 2001 in an area of 3.5 hectares located 15 minutes from downtown Cancun and every day we strive to ensure that the City of Joy is an effective instrument for fulfilling our mission.

Fundacion Ciudad De La Alegria A.c. Volunteer Information

The Community Medical Service supports the organizations in the City of Joy in area of medical care.

It also provides direct services to the local community by offering consults in family medicine with the most common problems being respiratory infections, parasites and diarrhea, illnesses which are easily linked back to the lack of hygiene and poor living conditions of the beneficiaries. For this reason the team not only treats illnesses, but are a vital source of information and advice for patients and have a key role to play in educating the population regarding basic health measures.

As an example of synergy within the City of Joy the Medical Service also coordinates a diverse group of health volunteers, such as nurses, psychologists, optometrists and dentists, who offer their services for the benefi t of all the Homes.
