The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington Charity Profile

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington is a community-building organization that helps people in need, strengthens Jewish identity and connects Jews to each locally, in Israel, and around the world. Because of the caring and generosity of our donors, we are able to help Jews of all ages and walks of life, and support interests from education and the arts to social services and cultural programs.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington cares for those in need, deepens engagement in Jewish life, and strengthens the bonds among Jews in the Washington area, in Israel, and around the world. Federation develops financial and human resources, as well as programmatic initiatives and partnerships, all geared toward building and maintaining a strong Jewish community locally and worldwide. Federation work is imbued with the Jewish values of arevut (solidarity), tikkun olam (repair of the world), and gemilut hasadim (acts of lovingkindness). Rooted in our sacred Jewish tradition and the quest for excellence, our success is due to the extraordinary partnership and trust with our stakeholders: donors; volunteers; partner agencies; and staff. We together are forging a vibrant and purposeful future.
