Ashley Foundation Charity Profile
The Ashley Foundation recognizes the unique challenge cancer presents to a teen’s physical, social, emotional, and spiritual life, and the impact cancer has on everyone sharing in the life of the teen. The Foundation is dedicated to assisting teenagers facing cancer as well as their families, friends, and communities through education and support
The Ashley Foundation Fund continues to serve the original mission of The Ashley Foundation focusing our resources on teens diagnosed and living with cancer.Many teens become long-term survivors while others die from cancer. Regardless of the prognosis, teens diagnosed and living with cancer have very unique needs. This was true for Ashley. When Ashley reached out for support from her community, none was readily available. At the time of Ashley’s cancer diagnosis which was a brain tumor, the existing community support did not include services that directly focused on the needs of teens with cancer.
Ashley chose to give her living and her dying meaning by creating a legacy of caring and concern for others. The Ashley Foundation, now The Ashley Foundation Fund, was established to ensure both educational and supportive programs will be available to teens who are ready to reach out for support.
