Sabah Women Action Resource Group Charity Profile

SAWO is an NGO started in 1985 by a group of concerned women and men to take up mainly issues of violence and discrimination against women particularly in Sabah. We believe that any individual or group in a society suffer violence and discrimination mainly because of their subordinate position. Women as a group have lower status in the home, in the work place and in the social arena. SAWO’s objective is to work towards improving the status of women in our society and creating a more equal, humane and just society for all.
