Louisiana SPCA Charity Profile
The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA/SPCA) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of animal suffering. Chartered in 1888, we are the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, providing care and basic medical services for thousands of homeless and unwanted animals each year.
Guided by a priority to improve the Quality of Life of all companion animals, our programs and services propel our mission forward. Whether it's educating our youth to value and respect all living things, enlightening the community about the importance of spaying and neutering, investigating animal cruelty cases and seeing those cases through the legal system, or making lifetime human/animal matches, we are committed to change.
Louisiana SPCA Donation Information
As a private, 501c3, non-profit organization, we were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Having always relied on memberships and donations for support, now the need is much greater. Your contribution not only helps care for the many strays on the streets of New Orleans and the hundreds of lost, neglected and abused animals housed in our shelter daily, it also benefits the programs and services we offer the Greater New Orleans area and beyond.
