St. Bernard Project Charity Profile
The mission of the St. Bernard Project is to remove barriers for families who wish to move back into their homes in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. St. Bernard is a uniquely tight-knit, working/middle class community adjacent to New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward and is arguably the area hardest hit by hurricane Katrina. The St. Bernard Project, a nonprofit, community-based organization carries out its mission through three primary programs: Rebuilding Program, Center for Wellness and Mental Health and Senior Housing Program.
St. Bernard Project Volunteer Information
Over 11,000 volunteers have helped St. Bernard Project rebuild 200 families' homes. It’s an impressive amount of volunteers, yet the need is still great in St. Bernard Parish. Thousands of families still struggle to get back into their homes.
St. Bernard Project Donation Information
The St. Bernard Project, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, recognizes that 60% of our budget is provided by former volunteers. We appreciate your constant support and are grateful for your tax-deductible donation. In an effort to be good stewards of your generosity, SBP uses less than 6% of our budget on administrative or indirect costs. This allows the majority of your donations to go where they are most needed -- into rebuilding homes for St. Bernard Parish families. Thank you for helping us change the lives of families on a daily basis.
