Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law CDRL Charity Profile

The Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law ("CDRL") is an independent, non-profit making organization working to restart and strengthen democracy, uphold the rule of law, advance democratic values, practices and institutions, train citizens and leaders, and monitor anti-democratic practices. CDRL was first established in July, 1994 as Campaign for Good Governance in Lebanon ("CGGL"). CDRL supports the separation of state and religious institutions, the building of political and civic organizations, the reforming and safeguarding of elections, the promotion of citizenship and citizens' participation in public affairs, the openness, transparency and accountability in government, and extensive judicial reform.
