Mbaruk Field Studies Centre Charity Profile
We aim to improve the quality of the environment and its sustainable development.
Objectives
to increase peoples' knowledge of environmental issues and the principles of sustainable development,
to reduce environmental footprint, i.e. the excessive use of natural or non-renewable resources.
1. Environmental education
Work which:
delivers environmental education programmes,
engages communities in improving their local environment.
2. Enhancing biodiversity
Work which:
enhances natural environment and its biodiversity.
3. Reducing environmental footprint
Work which:
promotes waste minimisation, recycling, renewable energy and the efficient use of natural resources.
Principles of good practice
impacting positively on the quality of life and having indicators to demonstrate this,
contributing towards sustainable development,
involving people from marginalised and black and minority ethnic communities,
promoting environmental justice, so that all communities can have a good quality living environment,
collaborative working and sharing of best practice.

Mbaruk Field Studies Centre Volunteer Information
NECT offers interested volunteers a multitude of ways to work for social justice and human rights. Work camps are short-term projects that help volunteers examine and understand the causes and damaging effects of injustice. Participants work directly with people in the communities they serve, experiencing social justice struggles firsthand. Participants must be age 18 or older.
