Habitat for Humanity Charity Profile
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses, so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God's love and can live and grow into all that God intends.
Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Information
There are many ways you can support Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County! *Volunteer at a build site: HFHEC welcomes 'helpers' who are willing to learn, 'skilled persons' who have done the task before and 'professionals' who can guide other volunteers. Areas of opportunity include: drafting/design, excavating, concrete work, framing, roofing, siding, insulation, drywall, painting, electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling, installing windows/doors, flooring, carpentry/finish work, installing cabinets, landscaping, etc. Only individuals 16 and older are allowed on Habitat build sites; only individuals 18 and older can handle power tools. *Furnish food for volunteers *Donate building materials and used furniture to the ReStore *Volunteer at the ReStore *Pick up and deliver items for the ReStore *Donate aluminum cans at A.A. Coors Inc., in the name of Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County: A.A. Coors Inc. is located at 823 East 8th Street, Hays, KS. They are open 1 to 5 pm Mondays thru Fridays and 9 am to noon Saturdays. *Purchase pies: HFHEC’s annual pie sale provides pies in time for Thanksgiving. *Find us on facebook *Help on bingo night: At The Bingo Haus, 1218 Canterbury Drive, Hays the 4th Sunday of each month from 6 to 10 pm. All ages are welcome to play from 7 to 10 pm. *Attend HFHEC board meetings *Help with fundraisers: Bake goodies for bake sales, deliver flowers for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, sell pies, etc. *Serve on a HFHEC committee: Committees include: public relations/fund raising, finance, church relations, site selection, family selection, construction, and family support. *Serve on the HFHEC board *Become a Carpenter's Club member: Donate $10 per month by check; cash; electronically from a bank account--print this form, fill it out and mail it to HFHEC with a voided check (P.O. Box 444, Hays, KS 67601); or online with a credit card. *Donate a vehicle to Habitat: Call 877-277-4344 or go to carsforhomes.org.
