Lunaria Charity Profile

Lunaria is a non-profit, secular, independent and autonomous from parties born in 1992 that conducts research, training and communication on the themes of solidarity and the third sector, migration and globalization and promotes voluntary initiatives International and youth policies. Through its activities Lunaria experimenting new forms of active participation and social transformation inspired by the principles of justice and social solidarity, democratic participation in community life, the guarantee of civil rights, social and human rights at national and international levels.

Lunaria Volunteer Information

Lunaria proposes experiences of short, medium international voluntary service of and long period collaborating with local associations and communities, international groups of Italian and foreign young people, organizations and nets. These activities allow to veicolare and to promote l' civil and social engagement, the forms of active citizenship, the development of relations and the exchange of experiences between the young people of various countries through their involvement in plans of social usefullness. From 1996 to 2005 approximately 12.000 young people they have joined to our proposals. For many of they the international voluntary service is one of the many ways for " to construct l' other world possibile" , in order to enter in relation with local communities, associations, persons of an other country, in order to confront ideas, plans, it drafts of life, in order to imagine a model of development constructed on the rights, the solidarity and the sostenibilità acclimatizes them. The fields of international voluntary service Experiences of short term (2/3 weeks), that they answer better to un' requirement of formation, cultural exchange, education to the solidarity and is involved above all the young people of age comprised between the 16 and 30 years. The voluntary service of mean (2-6 months) and along term (6 months - 1 year) draft of international plans that can be placed in any area of the planet, which they can approach the young people that have at least 21 years, possibly with precedence experiences of social or international voluntary service. The European Voluntary Service Allows from 1996 to the young people of age comprised between the 18 and 30 years to carry out un' experience of voluntary service in a country dell' European union, dell' Europe dell' East or of the Mediterranean for a period that goes from the 6 months to a year. The plans for the Senior volunteers the international voluntary service is un' experience that can make persons of any age: Lunaria experiments from the 2002 plans of mobility for the adult persons of advanced age to the 50 years. Lunaria, for being able to propose a wide fan of opportunity and in order to promote the ideas and the values of which she is carrier, joins to nets and thematic international organizations, like l ? lliance of Voluntary Service Organizations and the Foundation Anna Lindh, that it promotes the dialogue between the civil societies of the EuroMed Countries.
