Dickinson County Kinship, Inc. or Kinship has been in the Iowa Great Lakes for over ten years; serving those children who are at risk in the following areas: academic failure or dropping out of school,social skills, behavior issues, minimal healthy adult role models in their lives, juvenile delinquency, or have suffered severe or traumatic trauma. Kinship provides mentors and their mentees opportunities through programming, community service projects, activities, and workshops.The mission of Dickinson County Kinship, Inc., is to provide support to children who are vulnerable due to experiences in their lives by providing them with a supportive relationship with a mature caring adult. It is our expectation that through this relationship, the child will increase his/her sense of self-worth and develop the ability to cope successfully with difficulties in life.
