Iowa City Free Medical Clinic Charity Profile

The Iowa City Free Medical Clinic was established in 1971 to provide a wide range of health care services to patients in the Iowa City and surrounding community. The clinic was founded on the belief that health care is a basic human right.The Iowa City Free Medical Clinic is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of interested community members and representatives from various Clinic volunteer areas. The Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month.. Committees of the Board (i.e. Resource Development, Personnel, Board Development) meet as needed. The Free Medical Clinic is a nonprofit tax-exempt organization funded by United Way, Johnson County, the cities of Iowa City and Coralville, and private donations.
