United Way of East Central Iowa Charity Profile

United Way of East Central serves groups and individuals in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Jones, Linn and Washington counties. In 2007 we raised over $10 million and supported 32 agencies which represent 67 human service programs. United Way strengthens our communities by:

Gathering information to identify our communities’ most critical needs
Developing resources to support health and human services
Working with community groups to create new projects that help more people
Dollars given to United Way of East Central Iowa’s Community Impact Fund are distributed to programs that meet our communities’ most pressing needs. These programs address three key areas: Strengthening Children & Youth; Strengthening Families; and Strengthening Connections.

United Way of East Central Iowa Volunteer Information

The East Central Iowa Volunteer Center is a partnership between United Way of East Central Iowa, the Community Corrections Improvement Association and AmeriCorps VISTA. The Volunteer Center was established as a coordinated point of contact for area residents looking to volunteer and for people needing help with flood recovery.
