Indiana Petite Paws Rescue Charity Profile
Indiana Petite Paws Rescue Angels was formed in April 2004. We came about when a group of Yorkie Lovers, who met over the years on the Internet because of our love for the Yorkshire Terrier.
As our friendships grew and bonded, we saw a need out there for all the unwanted and abandoned Yorkies. We felt compelled to join together and make a difference.
Most of us have been members of National Rescue Groups but we found it became necessary to scale it down to a smaller localized area so we can cover it more efficiently.

Organizations such as ours cannot exist without the help of our volunteers, members, supporters and foster homes. Being a volunteer or foster parents can be both a rewarding and wonderful time in your life, but it is not all peaches and cream. It can be a lot of work.
Foster homes coupled with volunteerism are indeed the most important and most needed resource for any rescue or shelter. Having a flexible and reliable group of fosters and volunteers give rescues the ability to build and to adapt to the ever changing world of animal rescue. The needs of our rescue can change in the blink of an eye. On Saturday we may discover we actually have an empty foster home but by Monday be begging for help again. When we are full, we cannot save the animals in need.
Volunteers are needed for many functions within our organization. We need volunteers that can rescue and care for our foster dogs and members that contribute their skills in making items to be sold in our Boutique and at Events we attend. We also need members that are willing to donate supplies to our members that are busily creating items for our Boutique and Events, make phone calls, do home visits, attend events and help in many other areas.
