Oak-Leyden Developmental Services Charity Profile

Oak-Leyden was founded in 1956 by concerned families who joined to form the Oak Community School in Oak Park, Illinois. Here, young adults with developmental disabilities learned the skills they would need to live as independently as possible within home and community settings. Over the years, the Oak Community School grew to include a wide range of vocational and residential services for adults; and therapy, educational and family support for infants and young children with developmental disabilities.

The mission of Oak-Leyden Developmental Services is to help people with developmental disabilities meet life challenges and reach their highest potential.
