Youth Outlook Charity Profile
Youth Outlook provides safe, supportive, and respectful environments for adolescents who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning; through wellness education, leadership development, drop-in centers and community education in DuPage, Kane and DeKalb (Illinois) counties. Formerly Questioning Youth Center (QYC), the organization is over 10 years old.
Programs:
Drop-in Centers in Geneva, Naperville, DeKalb & Aurora provide safe social settings for youth to meet weekly to support each other and discuss topics of interest to the participants.
Youth Leadership Program provides opportunities to help run drop-in centers, assist with volunteer training, organize special projects, participate in community education and advise the agency board through the Youth Advisory Board.
Our Turn, a program for lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning young women, provides a safe, supportive environment to discuss topics such as gender stereotypes, body image, stress management, internet safety, etc.
Transcend, a program for transgender youth, provides a forum to discuss issues such as gender identity, hormone injections, legal issues, etc.

Youth Outlook Volunteer Information
Program, Governance and Administration Volunteers Oppotunities are available.
Program volunteers help run drop in centers, youth leadership programs, transgender group and young women's wellness project.
Governance volunteers work as board members or board committee members. Board meetings are 3rd Tuesday evening in Naperville.
Administrative volunteers help in a variety of short term projects inlcuding event planning and office work.
