Alfa/ Trinity Services Inc. Charity Profile
Trinity Services Inc., a nonprofit, non-sectarian organization, was founded in 1950 as the Trinity School in Joliet, Illinois, by a group of parents of children with developmental disabilities. The agency operated a school and developmental training program until 1987. Since then, Trinity has grown to include a wide range of programs and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral health needs. In addition to the school, Trinity Services now provides residential services(Community Living Programs), adult learning programs,a variety of vocational programs including supported employment, an autism center, respite services, in-home supports, a drop-in center, varied therapeutic services, etc. The Behavioral health program operates psycho-social rehabilitation programs, programs for the deually diagnosed, employment services, individual and group therapies, and offers services through the Family Counseling Center in Joliet. Trinity is also the state affiliate for persons with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
Today, over 1,000 employees work together to provide services and supports at more than 80 sites. Trinity serves more than 1,400 people in Peoria, the south and northwest suburban regions of Chicago, Illinois, as well as northern Nevada. In the near future, expansion to South Central Illinois is also planned in the area of Mascoutah.

Volunteers in all programs are welcome, either to work directly with individuals or support the agency in other ways. Volunteer time can also help to meet community service requirements for many high schools and courts.

Since its creation in 1989, the Trinity Foundation has fulfilled its mission of supporting and funding the work of Trinity Services, Inc. Its continuing success is making it possible for people with disabilities to live full and abundant lives. Under section 501(c)3 of the IRS code, the Foundation exists as a tax-exempt, charitable foundation. Its funds are used to support the work of Trinity Services, Inc.
