Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council Charity Profile
Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council is a not-for-profit organization serving over 9,000 girls throughout Calhoun, Jersey, Madison, Monroe, St. Clair and parts of Clinton, and Macoupin counties in western Illinois and Effingham, Coles, Edgar, Clark, Cumberland, Crawford and Jasper counties in eastern Illinois.
The Council is a charter member of Girl Scouts of the USA and a member agency of various United Ways. Girl Scouts of River Bluffs Council will be the forerunner in the development of self-esteem and leadership skills of girls, young women and adults.
Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., (GSUSA) founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912, is a not-for-profit organization chartered by a special act of Congress of the United States of America in 1950. GSUSA is the largest voluntary organization for girls in the world with a total membership of nearly 3.5 million members. Girl Scouts is open to all girls ages 5-17 who subscribe to its ideals as stated in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
