AFS Intercultural, West Germany Charity Profile

AFS is world-wide the largest and oldest youth exchange organization. AFS is non-profit, works non-commercially and on honorary basis. AFS Germany offers Schüleraustausch, guest family programs and volunteer services also over 40 countries. So AFS wants to promote tolerance and people communication.

AFS is an international to support independent and non-profit honorary organization, which accomplishes intercultural programs, in order humans in the development of their knowledge, their abilities and its understanding which are necessary, in order to create a fairer and friedvollere world. AFS helps humans in its tendency to use itself as responsible inhabitants of this earth for the peace and a better understanding between the different cultures of this world.

AFS is the conviction that the development of the peace is a dynamic process, which is endangered by unfairness, inequality and intolerance. AFS sits down for those became humans and the value of each human life as well as all peoples and cultures in. AFS promotes the attention of the human rights and the fundamental rights without each discrimination of race, sex, language, religion or social position. AFS arranges its programs in the consciousness of its basic values: that became, the attention of differences, the harmony, the projecting ability and the tolerance.

AFS Intercultural, West Germany Volunteer Information

With AFS young adults have the chance to learn to know new countries to experience another language and culture. As a volunteer the AFSer in social or ecological projects works. Wouldn't it be mad to help several months other humans and to close new friendships and in addition to learn a foreign language? Social commitment and intercultural authority are valuable auxiliary qualifications for the later occupation. A volunteer service abroad is not thus only a personal profit - it helps at the same time different humans. Thus people communication takes place completely directly!
