The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOS) is an Indonesian non-governmental organization, which made it's duty to protect together with the Indonesian population the last Orang Utans and their habitat. The BOS Foundation leads in the meantime largest Primatenschutzprojekt world-wide and has a pre display function for many other protection programs.

The history of BOS began 1989, when the never found derländische forest scientists Dr. Willie Smits on a market in Balikpapan on Borneo an abandoned Orang Utan baby. Smits called the Orang Utan female Uce and maintained it healthy. Thereupon ever more were brought Orang Utans to it. With the help of an initiative of Indonesian school children sufficient money knew collected who that, in order to create 1991 the first rehablitation station, Wanariset, in east Kalimantan.
