Salvador Dalí Museum Charity Profile

The Salvador Dalí Museum shall educate the public and promote understanding, enjoyment and scholarly examination of art through the exhibition of works by Dalí and artists of similar vision. The Salvador Dalí Museum shall preserve and expand its collection of art of Dalí and related archival material.

In cooperation with other museums and educational institutions, the Salvador Dalí Museum shall be an active resource in the cultural life of our local, state, national and world communities by the presentation of intriguing and varied exhibitions and programs.

Salvador Dalí Museum Volunteer Information

Museum volunteers are crucial to the success of museum operations and programming. Over 100 volunteers ranging in age from 17 to 90 assist Museum staff in various departments including Education, Marketing, Public Relations, Curatorial, Operations and more.

The Museum seeks volunteers from all backgrounds-not just those who have specific interest in the arts-to handle a variety of projects. We have opportunities for Volunteers in the following areas:
Visitor Services Volunteer

Visitor Services Volunteers assist with Museum admissions and staff the Museum’s General Information Desk, fielding questions ranging from local attractions to Dalí’s artwork. Training provided. Skills: Willingness to work with the public; good communication; familiarity with St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay area a plus.

Office Volunteer

Office Volunteers help with general office work including museum mailings and data entry. Skills: Good organization; willingness to work on extended projects.

Curatorial Volunteer

Curatorial Volunteers provide computer and library support for the curatorial staff and the museum’s archives. Skills: Computer literacy; ability to do research; good organization.

Special Events Staff

Special Events Volunteers help to support the museum’s wide range of educational and social events (Surreal Fridays, musical events, Film Series, Teacher Days, etc.) by selling tickets, preparing and serving refreshments, selling memberships, etc. Skills: Willingness to work in social situations on evenings and weekends a plus.

There are several ways to give: Unrestricted giving is vital to the financial strength of the museum enabling it to place funds where they are most needed at any point in time and assisting the museum in maintaining community involvement and outreach. Gifts can be of any size; large or small … all are appreciated and will be put toward furthering the mission of the museum.
